February Support Meeting - Sensory vs. Behavior

  • Lima Community Church 2645 N. Cole St. Lima, Ohio 45801 Unites States (map)

It can be difficult to determine whether a child’s actions are based on sensory needs or behavior. We’ll talk about some ways to tell the difference and how to handle sensory needs and meltdowns  as well as getting to the root of behaviors and understanding the  communication behind the behavior.  This is a perfect meeting for both professionals and families!

Nichole Dearth will be our speaker for the evening. She's an MOT, OTR/L is a pediatric occupational therapist serving children with differing needs from preschool to graduation in local schools. She's also an adjunct professor at Rhodes State College in the occupational therapy assistant program.

We will also have activities for the kids to do during the meeting!!!!  The YWCA Childcare Resource & Referral and the Children's Developmental Center will have staff at the meeting to play games and do activities with the kids.  If you need childcare, you MUST contact us by Sat. Feb. 8, to register your child(ren).  This way we can have enough staff available for the evening.  You can register by calling Tera at 567-825-8921 or by email at autismlifecenter@gmail.com.
