Autism Support Meeting - Parent Rights & Advocating

  • Journey Building @ Lima Community Church 2945 North Cole Street Lima, OH, 45807 United States (map)

This month we'll be visited by 2 amazing local family advocates! Michelle King, Allen Co. Parent Mentor & Jennifer Baumgartener Parent and Family Liaison.

They're going to talk about:
-The evaluation process. How do you get an IEP?
-IEP's. What are they? How can they help?
-Parent Rights. As the guardian of your child, what are your rights? What can you ask for?
-How can I advocate for my child?
-Communication. Communication with the school and teachers are extremely important.

If you're advocating for your child and trying to learn how the process works, this talk is for you. There will be plenty of time for questions and conversations to.

We do not have childcare, so this is an adult only meeting. This meeting will be open for families and professionals. Let's come learn together!
